party like it’s 2004: a middle school mixtape
Put on your best party dress (from Kohl’s, natch), your platform flip-flops, and your hair mascara. It’s time for the end-of-the-year dance, chaperoned by your gym teacher Mr. Belcher and your evil-bitch art teacher Mrs. Bjerke (sounds like beer-key but should’ve rhymed with BEE-JERK, ‘cause that’s what she was). No freak dancing allowed, kids. Sodas are $1 at the concessions table.

  2. Skrillex, Reviewed By Cute Kids - You Review #11 (by noisey)

Love this series of cute kids reviewing music, hate dubstep (or “deadstep” as my hilarious co-worker accurately calls it)

  3. Flavorwire » Stereotyping You by Your Favorite ’90s Band

    Jeff Buckley
Guys who fancy themselves as romantics and would be happy to invite you in for coffee. If you want. Of course. It’s up to you. Just saying.

    The Dave Matthews Band
Next-door neighbors who brew their own beer and reminisce an awful lot about how great their college years were.

    Portishead
Well-off couples who enjoy hosting dinner parties.

    Garbage
Girls who are generally awesome but still somehow seem to have really terrible relationships.

    Pearl Jam
People who consider “alternative” to be a viable genre.

    Matchbox Twenty
People who consider “alternative” to be a viable genre, but secretly never actually liked it that much.

    Rage Against the Machine
Conspiracy theorists who think Republicans are out to get them, and may be correct.

    Ben Folds Five
Conspiracy theorists who think women are out to get them, and may be correct.

    Oasis
Aging Anglophiles who still read the NME religiously.

Currently dancing up a storm to this.

    Vogue Exclusive: Charlie Siem

He worked with a tailor to develop a jacket for more flexibility. Brilliant!

Gifted ft. Kanye West, Santigold, & Lykke Li - N.A.S.A.

I remember running to this song on repeat all through junior year of college. It’s still good.

    And Suddenly, There Was Music.

In April, passengers on the Copenhagen métro were greeted with a flashmob of a different sort. The ‘mob in question was composed of the Copenhagen Philharmonic, who crowded into a car and spontaneously began to play, in support of Radio Klassisk.

Watch the expressions on people’s faces evolve as the Phil powers through its piece. It’s like seeing flowers bloom.

    Vidunderligt.

  9. Do Cute Kids Like Radiohead? - “Paranoid Android” - You Review #09 (by noisey)

OMG adorable British kids review Radiohead’s “Paranoid Android”. Nothing amuses me more than precocious kids.

    That and tiny hats.

  10. Cheryl - Call My Name (by CherylColeVEVO)

I can’t stop listening to this. It’s crazy. Those pants she’s wearing are crazy. That trash-compactor-arm-move-thing is crazy.

  11. To aspiring musical artists who have time to read this stuff...

Ben Folds doles out some wisdom for aspiring musicians:

Don’t spend effort on crap like… well, being cool. It’s a killer. It takes effort to appear as if you don’t care. What a waste. By the same token, don’t feel you have to beat every note into people’s heads and be Guy Smiley all the time. Just make good music and have good manners.

Always have good manners. Thanks Mr. Folds.
