High ResolutionThe most brilliant way to ensure that you have the right drink with the right music. Unfortunately, I find myself fresh out of heroin.

Flamenco Sketches (Alternate Take) | Miles Davis
I’m sure you guys saw this one coming. One of my all time favourite songs and I don’t mean like “top 50” shit. I mean like top 10 kind of favourite. I mean like, if a girl likes this song it changes my opinion of her 100% kind of favourite .I mean like, I want this shit played at my funeral kind of favourite. I mean like, I wanna make luvvv to this song kind of favourite. I mean like, I play this when I’m sad or when I’m happy kind of favourite. I mean like, when its late and night and I’m studying and I really just don’t want to go to school anymore I play this and feel better kind of favourite. I mean like, this is the song I’d like to wake up to and go for Sunday morning brunch and listen to this on repeat kind of favourite. I mean like, I’m shooting a short film set to this song with my good friend Sandie kind of favourite. I mean like, something I’ll show my son and be like “your dad loved this, your grandfather loved this, and your great grandfather loved this” kind of favourite.
Whatever. Forever posting old movies and jazz.

High ResolutionKind of Blue is one of my favorite albums of all time and it has “It Never Entered My Mind”, which is one of my favorite songs of all time. Listen to it here.
Admittedly, I first heard it from the movie “Runaway Bride” starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. But what was initially a mainstream romantic comedy reserved for date-nights became an open door to my love towards jazz. With jazz, seemingly chaotic melodies just seemed to make sense.
And then I heard Bitches Brew, and I was like “What the fuck.”

我爱你,纽约。
To do this song justice, I highly, HIGHLY recommend that you plug into a good pair of headphones or speakers. Use anything that will allow you to feel the beat of the bass travel through your chest, thereby replacing the sound of your own heartbeat. A pair of speakers that actually emits grainy black-and-white film reel images of grey and semi-rainy days, Washington Square park, the wet streets with bits of trash, the delicate bits of graffiti on warehouse doors, the cappuccino by the window at Joe’s near Waverly and the hurry of people with schedules and commitments.
Let it thrill you that there is life in this world and leave you wanting because you are not a part of it.
